1887-1900 “Jubilees” mostly mint balance collection on display pages, with many large blocks blocks with important and scarce setting pieces, shades, listed varieties, etc., including a corner block of 9 Crown watermarked paper, 1887-92 ½d imperforate imprimatur, block of 4 optd ‘SPECIMEN’, controls with blocks, 1½d optd ‘CANCELLED’, optd ‘SPECIMEN’ double, ‘horns’ variety, 2d cut down die proof for the head die plate for an unadopted design in connection with the 1884 committee (cat £5,500 as a full proof, Ex Peter Young), issued design blocks of 4 optd ‘SPECIMEN’ Type 9 (2) and a single Type 12, double frame line at left variety in pair, and various damage to the duty tablet, 3d pair and block of 4 optd ‘SPECIMEN’ (Ex “Lionheart” Part 1), 4d with “white 4" in various corners, 4½d broken bar to fraction, triangles jointed, frame break, dot between 4 and ½, 5d Die I mint and optd ‘SPECIMEN’ (2), Die II sliced spandrel, 6d block of four and strip of 5 (both Ex Lady Mairi Bury) and singles (3) optd ‘SPECIMEN’ type 9, and Type 12 single, and single optd ‘CANCELLED’, 10d optd 'SPECIMEN' double, in blue and black, double in black (RPS cert 2006), Ex Marcus Samuel), block of 4 on Repp ‘ribbed' paper, damaged left value tablet (2) and other flaws, 1s green block of 4 optd ‘SPECIMEN’ (Ex “Lionheart” Part 1), and block of 20 (cat £7,300+), £1 green used, 1900 1s green and carmine cut down die proofs for the frame and for the duty plate in black on white glazed card, single optd ‘SPECIMEN’ Type 15 (cat £950), block of 20 (cat £2,800) etc... Many items with provenance additionally annotated on pages, condition generally good to fine, an excellent lot for the dealer and collector alike where viewing comes strongly recommended. SG 197/214.
