1840-5 collection of four covers on leaves all from the village of Winsham in Somerset, all addressed to Syndeford, Thorncombe, none with official postal markings but clearly all used, with two prestamp lettersheets with manuscript ‘1d’, dated 1840 and 1845, and two lettersheets franked 1d reds with manuscript cancels – 1d plate 21 CB (c.1842 – date within removed) and 1d plate 45 EE used 16 March 1845 (m/s dated within) on Sun Fire Office printed lettersheet. All with contents. Some cover faults but a remarkable archive. SG 8
