1799 General post/Window letter. Wonderful cover addressed to Westminster bearing a ‘W’ Window handstamp in red with a black London despatch cds for JU 4 1799 and a red experimental single-ring (4.5mm, type 11a) datestamp used on the first date of issue JU 5 1799; this cds was only in use for eleven days from JU 5-15.1799. Charged 2d as indicated in manuscript. Very rare and unusual.
