1890 £1 Green. Very fine and fresh unmounted o.g. left hand marginal vertical strip of four lettered CA-FA overprinted "SPECIMEN" type 9, recontructed from two vertical pairs. Light horizontal crease crosses EA, not detracing from this magnificent exhibition piece of which only one sheet of 80 was printed. The original sheet was the first one printed in the new green colour after concerns were raised about forging the £1 Brown-lilac and was sent to H.C. Raikes, the then Postmaster General for approval.
