1912 Doncaster Agricultural Show. Very fine George King cover endorsed at upper left 'Posted at Brockley SE/under cover to the Postmaster/Royal agricultural show Doncaster' bearing a ½d dull green (SG279) and 1d scarlet (SG342) both tied by the very rare 'Royal Show Doncaster' skeleton datestamp for JU.25.1912. The 1d scarlet additionally tied by Doncaster double-ring cds for the same day. A couple of the usual minor tones as often seen on items from the George King collection. Without the herculean efforts of this avid collector many of these rare show and exhibition cancels would remain unknown to this day.
