1867 Island/Registered Mail. Very fine registered cover from Sandown, Isle of Wight to Oxford. Prepaid by a 2d blue Pl.9 and a 3d rose Pl.4 (Wmk. Emblems), both neatly tied by the scarce Sandown 'B88' 3HOS type numerals with a a Sandown cds at left for JA.30.1867 and a London oval registered datestamp for the 31st. Oxford arrival cds on reverse for the 31st. A difficult stamp to find on cover and a scarce Island numeral.
