1856-58 group of Scots local cancellations on cover comprising: 1856 cover franked by 1d red-brown Pl. 5, lettered NG with "Minute G" variety, (Spec. C6(1)i), sent locally within Edinburgh with the adhesive tied by Stockbridge (Type VII) Scots local cancellation, 1857 entire originally sent from London to Drummuir, bearing 1d rose red Pl. 47 (SG 40) tied by London City '1' numeral with green Botriphnie Scots local cancel (Type VIII) below, redirected upon arrival to Braemorriston, Elgin, and endorsed in manuscript "1d" with a "C.R." Caledonian Railway handstamp alongside, and backstamped by London dispatch cds for JY 29 57, Keith transit cds's for JY 30-31 57 and Elgin arrival cds for JY 31 57, 1857 cover to Annan franked by 1d pale red Pl. 34 (transitional issue on yellowish to cream toned paper, Spec. C9(3)), tied by Newton Mearns cancel (Type III), 1858 envelope to Brighton franked by 1d rose red (SG 40), tied by Meigle '245' Scottish numeral and backstamped by green boxed Ruthven cancel (Type VIII), 1858 entire to Markinch bearing 1d rose -red (SG 40) tied by Kinross "206" Scottish numeral and backstamped by a green Kinneswood Scots local cancel (Type V).
