Description
A comprehensive and highly valuable QV to KEVII mint and used collection housed in a loose-leaf stock album, featuring numerous scarce and sought-after stamps. Highlights include a mint 1840 1d black (3-margin, with a light vertical crease), 2d blue (4-margin, attractive but cleaned), and 1841 1d red-brown (one 4-margin and one 3-margin), alongside a horizontal pair (thinned).
Additional key items include a 2d pale blue (4-margin) with a Brandon certificate, 2d (KA), 1854 2d deep blue with RPS certificate (1976), and 1867 5s pale rose with RPS certificate (1986). The used section boasts three 1840 1d blacks (including a horizontal pair), three 2d blues, Embossed section is worthy of attention and contains 6d (2), 10d vertical strip of three, and three 1s, alongside is a 1867 5s rose (both mint and used, one with a Constantinople “C” cancel), and a 10s grey-green.
Mint highlights include the 1854 4d, 1857 6d (2), 1s, 1862 3d (2), 4d (2), 6d, 9d (2), and 1s, as well as the 1865 6d (2), 9d, 1s (2), 10d (2), 1s (2), and 2s. Additional gems include a £1 brown-lilac overprinted "SPECIMEN" and £5 orange (lower right corner fault), plus various attractive issues spanning through to KEVII, including values up to £1 green and 10s (2).
