1870 ½d Hand-drawn essay. Very fine composite essay by Perkins Bacon, using an engraved head similar to that used on Canadian stamps with a hand-drawn frame on white wove paper (46x 46mm) numbered "4" and endorsed at base "Messrs Perkins & Co.". Extremely rare, nineteen designs were originally produced six of which are in the Royal philatelic collection, of the remainder only three or four appear to have survived.
