1850 cover addressed locally bearing 1841 1d red-brown Plate 94 (KI) four close to large margins, superbly tied by large portion of Middlesmoor UDC in blue. Backstamped by a second strike of the UDC. Dated internally ‘AU 2. 1850’, the contents refers to the sender's support for the forthcoming Great Exhibition in London, but with ‘’no residing gentry'' you can not count on the local farmers as they are very ‘’close-fisted''. A very fine and rare cover. RPS Certificate (1997). SG 8; Spec BS81vb cat £4500
