1938-54 mint study collection formed by Frank Saunders, written up on graph paper. blocks, pairs and singles o.g. with a few used. Many with printing dates ascribed, which may be assumed to be accurate. Plate blocks include SG 133 6-3B, 133a 6-3A and 6-3B, 135 11A-9A, 137a 2-3A and 2-3B, 139ba 8-8A block of 6, 10B-8A, 140 1B-3B, 141b and 142 5-4, 143 1B-8A, 144 CP 1B (under R10/2, massive re-entry on R10/1), 144e 2-3B, 146b 1-3B, 149b CP 5B, all these unmounted. Also numerous Plate number pairs including 10/- 1952 deep blue CP 8A and the rare 1954 steel blue FP1 (under R10/2). Other items include 10c red-brown and orange horizontal feed coil-join strip of four unmounted, 1938 15c marginal block of four unmounted, 1938 20c block of four unmounted, 1938 50c block with R2/5 rope not joined (variety unmounted, excellent gum) and 1938 £1 top marginal, the stamp unmounted and fresh; a splendid collection of considerable interest to the specialist

Frank Saunders was the founder of the KG VI Collectors Society. He wrote extensively on the issues of the period and much of what he wrote has never been improved on. This collection would have provided the basis for his early writing on this set. It was sold by Harmers in 1977 and has not been seen since
