Description
Airmails: finely written-up collection entitled Eastern Province Airmails 1936-42 with covers from Al Khobar, franked in Bahrain after arrival on company ships (including 1940 cover to Venezuela reduced at left franked Bahrain 2a, 3a6p and 1r and similar franking cover to USA, both with red bars at end of air section), four 1940 (June to August) covers to USA via Hong Kong where censored, one additionally censored in Bahrain, 1941 incoming airmail cover from USA (one stamp missing) insufficiently addressed and returned via South Africa and probably Hong Kong, 1941 (August) cover to Los Angeles censored with three-line ‘Via B.O.A.C. to Auckland….’, 1941 (Nov) cover with Saudi franking to California twice censored via Bahrain, Singapore and China clipper to USA, plus three 1945 covers with American frankings APO 816 cancels. A fine group.
