Telegraph. 1882 (c.) large part "set" of 9 to 50r, comprising 1869-78 first watermark 2a and 1882 second watermark 1a and 4a to 5r, 25r and 50r, each with local sans-serif ‘SPECIMEN.’ handstamp (Samuel type 15, with stop), in conjunction with the bolder and larger type T11 H/S struck once (1a, 2r8a, - on lower halves only) or twice (the other values, on upper and lower halves), part to large part o.g. (except 4a without gum). Odd small faults (1r and 2r8a with creases), otherwise mostly fine to very fine. A rare and most interesting series, the only other value recorded with this combination of overprints being the 10r (cat £979 without opt)
