<p>1921 ‘NINE PIES’ on 1a, three different ESSAY surcharges in large sans-serif letters, respectively wide spacing (15.5mm), narrow spacing (8.5mm) and narrow spacing with bar, all in upper left marginal blocks of four, brilliant o.g. with first 1a block on aniline carmine, the others in rose-carmine, odd imperfections, last block with slight gum crease affecting upper pair only, nevertheless a superb and rare trio of the three different essays.
