1676-1860s pre-stamp and line-engraved postal history collection, including 1676 entire letter to London bearing Bishop Mark, 1d blacks (8) on cover, up to four margins, cancelled by either black or red MC, many plated with entire from Plymouth to Putney bearing 1d black Plate 8 (RH) tied by red MC addressed to Edward Trelawney (a friend of Shelley & Lord Byron), 1840 2d blue (Plate 2) on entire letter to Airdrie, 2d blue Plate 2 (FI) on long cover to Norwich, numerous 1d red-browns with some from black plates, including 1d red-brown Plate 8 (State II) on cover to Peterborough), 1d red-brown Plate 10 (in chocolate shade) on entire to Edinburgh, 1851 1d red-brown (IB) cover from Kildare to South Petherton tied by blue numeral cancel, 1852 cover from Irvine to Holytown franked by 1d red-brown (DI) on lavender-tinted paper, generally fair to fine condition.
