Description
1938-52 mint collection in red stockbook, the vast majority unmounted o.g. A considerable quantity of Plate blocks, some ascribed to printings by Peter Baldwin, but many are affected by gum toning and/or foxing. Includes two Plate blocks of the 1d carmine-pink, one of nine, but both are toned; SG 71 Plate block of nine, toned; SG 71a Plate block of four, this with normal gum toning for the issue; SG 73b two blocks, one a Plate block, each with gum a little toned; SG 73e marginal blocks of 4 (toned) and 12 (fine appearance but foxed on reverse; the largest multiple of this difficult printing seen by this describer); SG 74b Plate block, very slightly toned; 2/6d five Plate blocks; 5/- five Plate blocks and three other blocks including SG 77ba, bc, bd, each of the varieties with slight gum issues; 10/- and £1 in Plate blocks of 4 and 15; and 1952 set less the 1c value in Plate blocks of twelve.
