Revenue & Telegraph Stamps of the World | S26000
Auction: 30 January 2026 at 10:00 GMT
Description
Revenues. Blue stockbook with the exceptional range of Revenue material, principally KGVI but with some KGV, including 12/6d Revenue-Revenue seemingly uncancelled with break in lines below left scroll, and a very few QE II. There are 38 airline tickets; Pan Am, BOAC, Colonial, Trans-Canada, American and United. Included are tickets for a family of three, a 1947 ticket with the 12/6d cancelled by small Treasury embossed handstamp and a little collateral material, and many stamps and pieces with relevant cancels/markings. There is a 1947 card with “proof” strikes of the PAA, Colonial and Customs handstamps in their usual colours, plus a 12/6d punched and examples of the two sizes of the embossed Colonial Treasury stamp, presumably a ‘by favour’ item. There are three complete ship tickets, two Furness Bermuda Line (with Queen of Bermuda handstamps) and one Alcoa Steamship Company, in addition to pieces and loose stamps with ship markings, Customs and Agents handstamps. Also some display sheets with six further airline tickets and other items. This is not a mere accumulation, but a proper and sophisticated collection which, as it stands, would form a very good exhibit, with considerable potential for further expansion
