Consular Service. &nbsp;1887 75c on 8d imperforate top row of the sheet, plate proof of the trial setting. &nbsp;The first six stamps show the six surcharge essays se-tenant, the second six showing the same surcharge as position 2 (as eventually selected), each overprinted SPECIMEN Type 9. &nbsp;The selvedge shows manuscript ‘This overprint selected by the Foreign Office 1 July 87’ above the fourth stamp; this was crossed out, and ‘This overprint now finally selected by the Foreign Office 15.7.87’ above the second stamp. &nbsp;Several folds, but a wonderful and unique piece with splendid provenance
