<p>1930 pair of imperforate colour trials for the £5 blue, both affixed by upper margin to Bradbury Wilkinson presentation cards (63x104mm), the first numbered ‘1.’ and endorsed ‘not approved, wrong colour portrait + surround to be darker’ initialled, and dated ‘6/8/30’ in black ms, the second numbered ‘2.’ and endorsed ‘not approved - surround to be bluer + darker, portrait to be more violet as in previous issue,’ with the same initials but dated ten days later '16/8/30. A splendid pair of proofs showing the nuances of the final proofing stages.&nbsp;</p>
