POSTAL HISTORY: 1879 Officer's letter sent aboard H.M.S Dido, Sierra Leone to Bristol, endorsed 'No Stamps Procurable' at top right (in place of stamp), rated 6 with circular CH inspector h/s at right, backstamped by Liverpool BR Packet cds for 24 SP with Bristol and Clifton arrival markings, some peripheral wear, still an attractive and rare cover.
