1877 Overseas mail. Very fine cover from Deal to Shanghai prepaid at the 1s per ½oz rate by a 1s Green Pl.12 (SG150) neatly cancelled by a Deal "240" duplex for MR.6.1877 (The G.P.U. reduced the rate to 6d on 1st April 1877).  
Carried on P & O Steamers "Indus" Southampton-Galle and "Zambesi" Galle-Shanghai, backstamped in transit at Hong Kong for AP.22.1877.  Attractive and scarce destination item.
