Venus #10 Published by Atlas Later Known as Marvel (Leading Comic Corp/Atlas/Timely Comics, 1950).
This lot features a pre-Marvel Atlas comic, edited by Stan Lee, Venus #10. With a two chapter story title ‘Venus and the Son of Satan!’ with art by Werner Roth and Christopher Rule, followed by three stand alone stories and ending on a two chapter story ‘Journey to the Moon’ & ‘Trapped on the Moon!’. This issue marks the start of the title taking on a more science fiction theme.
Grade: 3.5, VG-. Restapled, discolouration to the white cover, creases down the spine, wear to bottom of spine, rounded corners, stress lines near spine, light marks on cover, fold to top right corner that follow through most of comic, tanning to back cover, two tears to top of back cover that transfers onto the next 4-5 pages, stains and veins to back cover, centrefold attached, and pages are tanned.
Cataloguer Note: There are three publishers listed as Leading Comics is listed on the interior page, and Atlas & Timely are the same company as it rebranded in 1950-1951. There are multiple listing using both names and to avoid confusion I have listed each.
