Giant Comics Edition #4 Cover by Bob Lubbers (St. John, 1949).
This comic includes a reprint of the Veiled Avenger ‘The White Death’ from Red Seal Comics #16 (1946), which was featured in ‘Seduction of the Innocent’ by Fredric Wertham. This story was featured due to a single panel of two criminals draining the blood from an unconscious woman. The artist listed for this story in Red Seal is Gus Ricca.
Overall, this comics has 128 pages with several crime stories. Ernie Gerber references this comic in The Photo-Journal Guide to Comic Books as a ‘white space’. Meaning, he had not yet found a physical copy. This comic was listed as a 8 on the rarity scale (out of 11) giving it a ‘scarce’ ranking. (21 to 50 known copies). Grade: 2.0, GD. Old tape down the spine which has come loose from the spine; this tape is holding the back cover to the comic, wear to the spine with colour fade and lines that break colour, tape to tear in the ‘A’ in Giant, chips to the edge of the comic, reading line down centre of cover, piece missing from bottom right corner, lose to spine at bottom, tape on the interior page over tears, hole to cover near the face of the green suited man, staining to the back cover and tanning, small tears and chips to back cover, top left corner is missing from back cover, small rips to edges of comic pages through comic (not consistent), the comic has been stapled with small tears near both, and tanned pages.
