A Great War Royal Flying Corps/Royal Air Force pair awarded to 1st Class Air Mechanic, Thomas Edward Welch RFC/RAF, comprising 1914-1920 British War and Victory Medals (30489. 1.A.M. T.E. Walch. R.A.F.), note spelling of surname, lightly toned, very fine. (2).
Thomas Edward Welch joined the Royal Flying Corps on the 29th of August 1916, transferring to the Royal Air Force on the 1st of April 1918. He served in France with 102 Squadron as an Officer’s Batman from the 18th of September 1917 to the 23rd of March 1919. He was discharged from the Royal Air Force on the 30th of April 1920.
