1946 'Thick Map' 6d black and ochre, the scarce shade, lower marginal block of 4 from vignette plate '2', the lower right stamp variety 'SOUTH POKE' (R6/8), centrally cancelled by two very fine strikes of type SG6 'South Georgia' cds, dated '20 SEP 1946'. Attractive and very rare in this form and condition, and the first used example of the variety we can recall handling. Ex Ivor Little.
