1895-96 2½d, type 17 design (white background with figures in lower corners), group of four different colour trials (produced c. 1898), comb perf 12½, 13, each in a block of four, respectively in deep blue-green, rose-lilac and slate-purple on wmk 6 paper, and in carmine on green unwmkd paper, large part o.g. Odd imperfections (last with thins affecting upper pair) but attractive and scarce, with fresh colours. Ex Yardley.
