1852-1960s mint and used collection housed in an album and loose, including 1852 ½a white Scinde Dawk, used (SG S1 cat £3250), 1854-55 ½a and 1a lithographs, mixed dies, with 1a showing type 6 C-111 cancel for Pondicherry (French India), 4a (x3, two cut to shape, the other with touching to clear margins), 2a green (x5), 1856-64 values to 8a, 1865 watermark Elephant's Head values, 1866 6a purple on Foreign Bill used (SG 68 cat £250), 1882-80 Empire set to 1r, with 4a slate-green watermark inverted used (SG 96w cat £650, faults with adhesions on reverse), 1895 high values (SG 107-109 cat £300), 1902-11 KEVII values to 25r, some mint and used (high values mostly telegraphically used), KGV with 1911 Coronation Durbar folders, 1911-23 values to 25r with some shades (3p Rs flaw) and 8a watermark inverted used (SG 180w listed but not priced as used) 1926-33 set to 25r with watermark inverted varieties, including 2a purple interpanneau tête-bêche block of 8 used (SG 206a cat £336), 1929 Air Mails with 8a purple missing tree top (SG 224a cat £375 mint) and 8a reversed serif used (SG 224b cat £475), 1931 Inauguration ¼a ‘F’ for ‘P’ variety (SG 226 cat £325), 1935 Silver Jubilee, 3½a showing bird flaw (SG 245a cat £450), KGVI with some inverted watermarks, 1948 Gandhi set mint and used and on presentation folder, 1949-52 set, 1957 Mutiny Centenary 90np colour trial pairs in yellow-brown and grey. Lot also includes assorted literature. Generally fair to fine condition, a valuable lot.
