Stamp Duty: 1881 hand painted stamp-sized artist's essay of the issued keyplate design in lilac, on tracing paper (76x89mm) with blank Duty plate, with five duty plate essays from 6d to £1 in left margin. A wonderful essay, and the genesis of Leeward Islands philately, this first revenue issue predating postal issues of the Leeward Islands by 8 years.  Ex De La Rue Archives.
