Description
c. 405 BC, 17.22g. Charioteer, holding kentron and reins, driving quadriga left, Nike above, crowning the charioteer, dolphin below. Rev. [ΣVRΑΚΟΣΙΟΝ], head of Arethusa left, (depicted underwater with air flowing upwards), four dolphins around. (HGC 2, 1345; SNG ANS 298 (some dies); SNG Copenhagen 682 (same dies)). Good Very Fine. A few light marks to obverse. A superb piece.
