MORSTON, Norfk. William Buck (publican), Penny (Pint), 1817, rev. Sailing ship, SUCCESS TO THE CRUIZER OF MORSTON, edge grained, 35mm/18.57gm. (W Appendix 1, p.239). Good Extremely Fine, even hazy toning with iridescence and some original colour, very rare ‘RR’
William Buck Jr. was the landlord of the Anchor public house in Morston and owner of the Cruizer (a brig registered in Yarmouth in 1818). The token was probably issued at the commemoration of the launch of the Cruizer. These tokens were unknown until the last few years
