A Very Unusual 1912 Half Sovereign Used as an Identity Disc by Sister Grace Edith Mogg, Australian Auxiliary Nursing Service. (G.E. Mogg. A.A.N.S. A.I.F. 31.7.17), very fine (1)
Grace Edith (Bobby) Mogg was born at St Arnaud, Victoria in 1891 she was the Daughter of William James Mogg and Grace Mogg nee Bonna, she was the Sister of Mr. H.F. Mogg of 115 Dickins Street, St Kilda, Victoria, Occupation Prior to Enlisting was Nursing Sister, training for four years at Melbourne Hospital, she enlisted on the 12th of July 1917 and embarked from Sydney on the “Wiltshire” on the 31st of July 1917. She served in Egypt and Salonika, she returned to Australia on the 22nd of September 1919, she married Claude Valentine Duncan in 1942 and died in Victoria on the 12th of January 1977 being cremated at Springvale Botanical Cemetery and her ashes were scattered within the cemetery
