The Memorial Plaque awarded to Private Archibald Waterman 1st Battalion Wellington Regiment who Died of Wounds on the 21st of August 1917 at the 2nd Australian Casualty Clearing Station comprising Memorial Plaque, (Archibald Waterman), a unique name on the Commonwealth War Graves Database, in a glazed frame very fine (1)
Archibald Waterman was born in Oxford, Canterbury New Zealand on the 2nd of November 1893, he enlisted into the New Zealand Expeditionary Force on the 3rd of October 1916 stating that he was a Civil Servant. He embarked for France on HMNZT No 76 on the 16th of February 1917 as No 38092 Private and was posted as a reinforcement to the 1st Battalion Wellington Regiment on the 26th of June 1917. His papers state that he Died of Wounds received in Action at no 2 Australian Casualty Clearing Station on the 21st of August 1917. He was buried in Trois Arbres Cemetery, Steenwerck, France, he was the son of Mrs S.E. Waterman of Oxford, Canterbury, New Zealand, he lies in Plot 1 Row Z Grave 36 he was 24 years old when he died.
