Description
The India General Service Medal, 1854-95, awarded to Private Frederick Jones, 2nd Battalion The Queen’s Royal West Surrey Regiment, comprising Indian General Service Medal, 1854-95, two clasps, Burma 1885-7, Burma 1887-89 (701 Private F. Jones 2nd B. R.W. Surr. R.) engraved in running script, edge bump 6 o’clock otherwise toned fine. (1)
Frederick Jones joined the Queen’s Royal West Surrey Regiment on the 2nd of August 1883, and 18 year-old Bricklayer from Surrey. He served overseas in India, Burma and the Esat Indies. He suffered from various tropical and more painful disease during his Service. He was Discharged from the Army on the 1st of August 1895 after 4 years 164 days.
