Birmingham, Henry Biggs (publican of the General Elliot, Moor St.) Halfpenny 1792, bust of Elliot left, rev. Fleur de lis, edge PAYABLE AT HENRY BIGGS’S MOORE STREET, 29mm/11.50gm. (DH 70 var). Another the same but edge plain, 29mm/8.93gm. (DH 70a). A second halfpenny of his – bust of Samuel Johnson right, rev. three rampant lions, edge BIRMINGHAM W HAMPTON OR LICHFIELD. 29mm/11.12gm. (DH 71a), all Extremely Fine or better, first with almost complete mint lustre, second toned, almost ‘bronzed’, third with traces of original lustre. [3]
