Birmingham, George Barker, uniface die trial for the not quite competed obverse (1797) – Barker arms (but no hatching in shield) and crest, GHB below, rev. blank, edge plain, 32.25mm/13.76gm. (DH 65), good Extremely Fine, nicely toned – dusky with just a trace of lustre. Extremely rare, very lightly this is one of two specimens known.

Ex. DNW 19 Mar 2009, lot 418. (The other specimen, the Jan/Deane No 1 piece, was auctioned for £640 in 1984).
