Spalding. Thomas Jennings (ironmonger & stationer) Halfpenny 1794, Britannia standing left viewing navy, rev. TJ cypher in shield demi-lion crest above, edge PAYABLE AT T JENNINGS’S SPALDING & HOLBEACH, 29mm/9.20gm. (DH 4). Another similar but small lion in obv. legend, 29mm/9.76gm. (DH 5). Another but tail of demi-lion nearer legend, 29mm/10.38gm. (DH 6). Another the same but edge PAYABLE AT I JORDANS SPALDING & HOLBEACH, 28.5mm/9,67gm. (DH 6a). Another the same but edge plain, 29mm/9.99gm. (DH 6e), all good Extremely Fine and handsomely toned with traces of lustre, DH 6a with reflective toning, DH 4 and 6a scarce, DH 6e very rare ‘RR’. [5]
