Liverpool, Thomas Clarke (grocer) Halfpenny 1791, Ship left in full sale, rev. Crest and arms of Liverpool – Liver bird, edge PAYABLE AT THE WAREHOUSE THOMAS CLARKE .XX., 29.5mm/12.69gm. (DH 64). Another but very slight spacing differences, 30mm/12.65gm. (DH 66). Another but period at end of legend, 30mm/12.34gm. (DH 70). Another but minor spacing differences, 30mm/12.28gm. (DH 71). Another, but minor spacing differences, 29mm/12.41gm. (DH 75). Another, but minor spacing differences, 29.5mm/12.65gm. (DH 76), all generally good Extremely Fine with varying degrees of original mint lustre apart from DH 75 which is Extremely fine, toned and also Very Rare ‘RR’. [6]
All except DH 66 ex F S Cokayne Col., his tickets – DH 64 bought 15 Feb 1908 for 2/-.; DH 70 bought 16 Feb 1906 for 2/-, (also bears an H C Drury Col. [sold 1940] ticket); DH 71 bought 5 Nov 1903 for 2/-; DH 76 bought 9 Dec 1905 for 1/9. Acquired AHB c. 1946.
