Macclesfield, contemporary copy (probably struck for collectors) of Roe & Co. Halfpenny 1791. Draped bust of Charles Roe right, rev. industry seated left holding auger and cogwheel, edge PAYABLE IN LONDON ANGLESEA AND LIVERPOOL .x., 31mm/10.74gm. (DH 65). Another the same, but with different edge, PAYABLE IN LONDON EVERYWHERE, 31mm/10.84gm. (DH 65a), both good Extremely Fine, almost proof-like with much original colour and iridescent toning. Superb.
