West Midlands, John Wilkinson Contemporary Forgery of a Halfpenny 1791, bust of Wilkinson (spelt incorrectly) right, rev. Vulcan seated right, edge BIRMINGHAM W. HAMPTON OR LITCHFIELD, 28.25mm/11.71gm. (DH 446e) Another similar but bronzed and edge WILLEY BRADLEY SNEDSHILL BERSHAM, 29.5mm/10.53gm (DH 447a). Another similar but dated 1792. 30mm/11.15gm. (DH 448). Another similar but rev. slightly different, 30mm/11.31gm. (DH 449). Another cruder and with Lutwyche’s Moneta rev. and plain edge, 28mm/5.89gm. (DH 464). Another but now spelt Wilkison and with Commerce rev. dated 1794 and plain edge, 27mm/7.41gm. (DH 473), DH 446a, 447a and 449 Extremely Fine or better, last with traces of lustre, rest approaching Extremely Fine, bronzed DH 447a rare. [6]
