1914- 15 Star awarded to Stoker Petty Officer Robert Kenneth Cobley Royal Navy, (308662. R.K. Cobley. S.P.O. R.N.), very fine (1)
Robert Kenneth Cobley was born on the 29th of August 1884 in Plymouth, Devon. He enlisted into the Royal Navy on the 23rd of August 1905, stating that his trade was Blacksmith. He served in various ships and Shore Establishments including, Vivid II, Cornwallis, Ceaser and Fox. He is entitled to the Naval General Service Medal 1909-62 with the class Persian Gulf 1909-15 awarded whilst serving aboard H.M.S. Fox. He served during the Great War on His Majesty’s Ships, Berwick, Liverpool, Idaho and Cormorant. He was awarded a Long Service and Good Conduct Medal but papers indistinct as to date he is also entitled to a British War and Victory Medal. He was Invalided to Shore on the 2nd of September 1925 with Rheumatism and M.C.O. He Died on the 28th of May 1929 aged just 45, leaving £1,465 18s. 3d. to Adalin Lethbridge.
