Queen's Sudan Medal awarded to Pte Alfred Chesters 1st Battalion North Staffordshire Regiment (4065, Pte. A. Chesters, 1/N. Staff: R.), engraved naming, toned fine (1)
20 Year Collier Alfred Chesters a native of Staffordshire joined the North Staffordshire Regiment on the 18th of February 1893, being posted to the 2nd Battalion, he served overseas in Malta, Egypt and the East Indies he was Discharged on the 1st of February 1905 after 12 years 15 days Service with the Colours. His Papers state that he served with the Dongola Expedition 1896. As well as the Sudan Medal he is also entitled to the Khedives Sudan Medal with the clasp Hafir.
