Egypt Medal 1882-89 - Tel-El-Kebir awarded to Private Noah Joy, 2nd Battalion Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry, comprising Egypt Medal 1882-89, one clasp, Tel-El-Kebir, (798. Pte. N. Joy. 2/D. of C. L.I.) Engraved Naming, naming worn, minor pitting from star, good (1)
Noah Joy was born in Barnstable Devon a 19 year old Labourer by trade when he enlisted into the Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry on the 30th of March 1878. He served in Bermuda, Gibraltar and Egypt. He was awarded the Egypt Medal with Tel-El-Kebir clasp and the Khedives Star, Service Papers and Medal Rolls confirm. He was discharged from the Army on the 29th of March 1890 after 12 year’s Service with the Colours.
