Constabulary Gazette (Dublin) the 8th of July 1899
Sergeant Francis McGeary has been transferred from Westgate, Drogheda to Anne Street Dundalk, Sergeant McGeary served for twelve years in Drogheda, and we can safely say that since the days of Cromwell, no more popular policeman ever left the historic town on the Boyne. His friends both in the force and out of it are legion, and but for the fact that his transfer is a step towards his future advancement great would be the regret of his departure., We hope his future career will be both prosperous and pleasant.
