The Long Service and Good Conduct Medal awarded to Bugler Arthur William Deacon Scots Guards and Rifle Brigade who joined the Army age 15 years and 11 months old comprising, Army Long Service and Good Conduct Meda, QVR, (430. Bugler. A.W. Deacon. Sco: Gds.), edge bumps, about fine (1)
Arthur William Deacon joined the Scots Guards on the 27th of June 1877 at Aldershot, his home town, stating that he was b15 years and 11 month old and a Musician by Trade. He served with the Scots Guards from 1877 until the 15th of February 1889 when he transferred to the Rifle Brigade as a Bugler. He served until the 10th of March 1896 and was discharged at his own request after 18 years 258 days with the Colours all served Home, his LS&GC his only Medal awarded on the 22nd November 1895. He Claimed and was awarded a Pension by the Royal Hospital Chelsea.
