France, Philip VI (1328-1350), gold Écu d'Or à la Chaise, 1st issue, struck from 1 January 1337, 4.40g (Dupl. 249; Ciani 282; Fr. 270). Very Fine, slightly wavy flan and a small punch to 6 o’clock on obverse. Slight corrosion of surfaces due to the item being in the ground.
