Description

William and Mary (1689-1694), Halfcrown, 1689, PRIMO, laureate, draped busts right, reverse crowned first shield, with frosted caul and pearls (ESC 503; Bull 826; S.3434). Choice practically mint state, exceptionally well struck and exquisitely toned. One of the finest examples we have seen.

Ex. Spink Auction 24/8/2008 lot 950, (£3844inc. premium). Described – “most attractively toned, overall mint bloom, an exceptional example, almost as struck."

Comparable to the MS64 Terner example which realised $12,000 in a US Auction in 2012.
