William III (1694-1702), Halfcrown, 1696, Octavo, Bristol mint, first laureate bust right, B below, legend and toothed border, reads GVLIELMVS III DEI GRA. Rev, crowned cruciform small shields, four strings to early harp, Lion of Nassau at centre, date fl anking top crown, legend reads MAG BR FRA ET HIB REX (S.3476; Bull.1053; ESC.535). Toned, minor fl an striking fl aw at 11 o’clock, normally encountered with large as opposed to small reverse shields, otherwise near very fine, rare.
