Description
Struck in crown gold of 22 carat with a nominal value of 10s, mintmark grapple (1549) both sides, Southwark Mint. Crowned, cuirassed bust r. rev. Crowned Royal Arms, in ogee garnishing, dividing E and R, SCVTVM FIDEI PROTEGET EVM, (N. 1911; Schneider 681; S.2438). Lightly toned, good Very Fine. A fundamentally sound example of the denomination with a scarcer mintmark.
