George I (1714-27), Quarter Guinea, 1718, laureate head right, toothed borders both sides legend surrounding GEORGIVS DG MBFE ET HIB REX F.D. Rev, crowned cruciform shields, incorporating the Arms of Hanover, sceptres in angles, garter star at centre, date either side of top crown, BRVN ET L DVX SRIATH ET EL surrounds (S.3638; Bull.550; MCE 277). Toned, few obverse contact marks, otherwise good very fine. Fetching. One of only two years available for this fractional denomination with the other being 1762.
