Henry V (1413-22), Quarter-Noble, variety, Class C, Tower mint (London), initial mark pierced cross, legend surrounds HENRIC REX ΛNGL S FRΛNC, quartered shield in tressure of eight arches, broken annulet to left, mullet to right, annulets on cusps. Rev, reads EXCVLTΛBITVR IN GLORIΛ, note misspelling of EXΛLTΛBITVR, floriated cross at centre within inner linear beaded border, lis at centre, trefoils at angles in central panel, lettering Brooke I and N (S.1756 var; N.1382; Brooke C [Vs/Vr‑s]; cf. Schneider 243). A rare variety of the quarter noble, lustrous toning with clear legends in the main, a misspelling in place recorded in Schneider. Good very fine, rare. Fetching.
